SEO basics for a local business
Local SEO is less mysterious than it sounds. Most of the gain comes from doing a few basics properly.
- Claim your Google Business Profile. Add accurate opening hours, categories, photos and a link to your site. It is free and often the first thing people see.
- Make your name, address and phone consistent. Use exactly the same details on your website, your profile and directories.
- Write a page for each service and location. “Boiler repair in Wrocław” beats a single “Services” page with a long list.
- Make the site fast and mobile-friendly. Most local searches happen on phones. Slow pages lose visitors before they read a word.
- Collect real reviews. Ask satisfied customers and reply to every review, good or bad.
What takes time
Rankings improve gradually. Expect to see movement over months, not days, and be wary of anyone promising instant first place.
Measure
Track calls, form submissions and direction requests, not just visits. These show whether search is bringing you actual customers.
